Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend
Hrissoula Hiotis, of Asbury Park, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2025. Born in the historic city of Sparta, Greece, Hrissoula carried the strength, pride and fierce spirit of the Spartans - unwavering, proud, and unbreakable - and it showed in the way she faced life's joys and hardships alike.
Hrissoula endured profound loss- mourning the painful passing of one of her sons, yet never let sorrow dim her light. Her strength was quiet but unmistakable.
Hrissoula was a master in the kitchen - her cooking and especially her baked goods were unforgettable, always made with love and shared generously. She found great joy in shopping for her family. She was quick-witted, with a sharp sense of humor and a playful spark that made everyone around her laugh.
She adored her game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, where her deep well of knowledge and love for learning were on full display. It was no surprise to anyone that she could keep pace with the contestants - and often beat them to the answer.
A storyteller at heart, Hrissoula loved to reminisce about the "good old days" and fill her home with the golden sounds of 1950s and 60s music. Her warmth, her humor, and her unshakable strength will be remembered always.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be eternal.
