It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hubert Joseph Chiasson Jr. (Hubie). He was 88 years old. He was born in New Orleans, LA, on August 10, 1937, to the late Hubert Joseph Chiasson Sr and the late Dorothy Terrebonne Chiasson. He passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Loving husband of Catherine S. Chiasson for 68 years and father of Claire C. Impastato (Vincent), Catherine C. Roy (Chris), and the late Christine C. Strauss (Ben).
Survived by sister Dorothy Chiasson Le Boeuf and brother John O’Neil Chiasson. Predeceased by brothers Robert “Bucky” Chiasson and David Chiasson, and sisters Linda Chiasson Farr and Kathleen Chiasson.
Loving grandfather of Bryon Biondolillo, Richard Hill Jr. (Wendy), David Biondolillo (Shannon), Jason Hill (Crystal), Leslie Hill Darensbourg (Barney), Alison Lucas (Paul), Evelyn Biondolillo (Patricia), Margaret Moreno, and Rachel Strauss. Adoring great-grandfather of 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed art, history, and traveling, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, and the Mass will begin at 1:00 pm. According to his wishes, he will be cremated after Mass. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please consider having a Mass said in his honor or donating to your favorite charity.
