Ursula Armstrong Kaley

Ursula Elizabeth Armstrong Huete Kaley passed away the evening of Saturday March 7, 2026, at age 94. Ursula, the "Little She-Bear", was born on March 31, 1931, to Neil August Armstrong, Jr., and Ursula Wilhelmina Meyer Armstrong. She spent most of her life in the New Orleans area, having grown up in Chalmette, attending the Academy of Holy Angels in the Ninth Ward, and graduating as a Medical Technologist from Loyola University.

It was at Loyola where she met, and subsequently married, her first husband F. William Huete, DDS, to whom she presented six sons. In addition to taking care of her family, Ursula had a full life: tennis with the Goo-Goo's, tap dancing, sewing, gardening, traveling, beaching, and socializing with her posse.

Following Bill's sudden and untimely death in 1989, Ursula re-entered single life and busied herself with her interests. But the Fates reunited her with one of Bill's old Navy buddies, and she subsequently wed Donald C. Kaley. Ursula lived with Don in Savannah, GA , then Diamondhead, MS, but returned to River Ridge in her last years.

Ursula was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother Neil III, and her husbands Bill and Don. She is survived by her sons, Rev. Francis William Huete, SJ; David Armstrong Huete PE (Maria); Commander Michael Charles Huete, USN (Ret) (Janice): Deacon Stephen Marc Huete (Dorothy); Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Hopper Huete, USMC (Ret) (Nora); and Captain Patrick Niles Huete, USN (Ret) (Kris). She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Ursula's family would like to thank all of the caregivers who helped her over the last few years, especially her Visiting Angels, TraCie and Fontella. Your ministrations lessened Mom's burdens and gave us comfort.

A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday March 13, 2026, at 11 A.M. in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A. M. until Mass time.
