Hubert “Babe” Wilson, 90, of New Castle, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, January 24, 2026, in the Grove at New Castle.
Mr. Wilson was born June 14, 1935, in New Castle, a son of the late Hubert K. and Anna (Bardash) Wilson, and graduated from Lawrence County Vo-Tech in 1953.
A skilled automotive mechanic, Babe began his career at Chamber’s Chrysler and later retired from King’s Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, both in New Castle.
He loved restoring antique radios and never lost his passion for working on cars.
His beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia J. (Biondi) Wilson, whom he married on September 1, 1956, preceded him in death December 21, 2021.
Babe is survived by two daughters, Susan Picarro, of Valrico, FL, and Karen Eboch (James), of Port Richey, FL; and four grandsons, Andrew and Matthew Picarro, and Staff Sgt. Patrick and Sean Eboch.
In addition to his wife and parents, Babe was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ludwig Picarro.
In keeping with his wishes, services will be held privately by the family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
