Hugh H Ault Jr.

Hugh H. Ault, Jr., 74, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away Thursday December 18, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he was a 1971 graduate of Central High School. Hugh served six years in the Army National Guard and was a former employee of Lowe's and 84 Lumber.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh H Ault Sr. and Evelyn Jewel Carmody Ault; and nephew, Tim Holder.

Hugh is survived by his loving wife, Janis Smallen Ault; two sisters, Nancy Oxford Charles and Linda (David) Bohan; sister-in-law, Patricia Hines; two nieces, Lorri Jordan and Ginger (Mark) VanHoosier; and nephew, James Oxford, along with many great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends, 10:30 AM-11:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday at Lakewood Memory Gardens-East with Pastor Virgil Smith officiating.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Hugh's Friday Friends, Jerry, Jed and Bobby and to the Tuesday and Thursday "Pool Club" Patrick, Bob and Roger for their friendship.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
