Hugh "Buddy" Griffin, Jr., 86, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at NHC in Milan, TN.
Buddy was born on April 5, 1936, in Brownsville, TN, to the late, Hugh Lloyd Griffin, Sr. and Olivia Robbs Griffin. He was an employee of the highway department for the State of Tennessee for 30 years and was a part-time farmer on the side. In his spare time, Buddy enjoyed junking and going to yard sales. He was a faithful member of Sorrells Chapel United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Sorrells Chapel Cemetery with Bro. John Lowrance officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 1-2:45 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his two daughters, Amy Reed and husband, Bob, of Jackson, TN and JoEllen Farris and husband, Larry, of Springfield, TN; a brother, Tommy Griffin of Forked Deer, TN; a sister, Betty Woodard of Memphis, TN; and five grandchildren, Rebekah Reed, Evan Farris, Abby Reed, Ben Farris and Will Farris.
In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Gloria Griffin.
Pallbearers will be Ben Farris, Will Farris, Evan Farris, Dean Griffin, Gary Cannon and Kelly Griffin.
The Griffin Family would like to thank the staff of NHC of Milan and Avalon Hospice for their loving care of Mr. Buddy during this difficult time.
Memorials may be directed to the New Life Union Mission "In Memory of Buddy Griffin", 213 West Cedar Street, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
