Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mr. Hugh D. Washington, age 64, will be held 1:00 pm on Tuesday March 10, 2026, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Thurmond officiating. Mr. Washington entered into rest on Friday February 27, 2026, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was the beloved husband of the late Mrs. Yvonne Garris Washington and a son to the late Miss Majoluma “Margie” Washington. Mr. Washington was a native and lifelong resident of Aiken. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Aiken. Mr. Washington enjoyed working with his hands. He detailed cars and was a handyman. Mr. Washington was a jack of all trades. He also enjoyed singing, playing guitar, telling jokes, and making people laugh. He always had a smile on his face. Mr. Washington also loved watching the NFL. Mr. Washington was family oriented and loved spending time with his family and his friends. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include: one step-son Lamont Garris, Aiken, SC; two brothers Alexander Washington and Samuel Washington, both of Aiken, SC; five sisters Mary Washington, Linda Washington, Veda Washington, Patricia Washington, and Angie White, all of Aiken, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Washington was preceded in death by: his son Bryson Washington and his sister Lois Hunter.
