Mr. Hughlon Leon Cornelison was born April 15, 1958, to the late Lester "Lec" Cornelison and Stella Potter Cornelison in Jackson County Alabama. Hughlon was a 1976 graduate of Scottsboro High School. After high school he was employed by the Jackson County Board of Education as a transportation bus driver and retired with 45 years of service in May 2024. Along with cattle farming, he was also an active participant at Holland United Methodist church, serving as a Sunday School teacher among other board member duties.
Mr. Cornelison was united in Holy Matrimony to Cynthia Dean on April 9th, 1983 and were married for 41 years.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Dean Cornelison; two sons, Quentin (Vanessa) Cornelison, and Derek Cornelison; one sister, Velma Durham Graham; nephew, Harward (Beverly) Durham; two great nephews, Cody (Taylor) Durham, and Colton Durham; and one great niece, Catherine Durham. He is also leaving behind special people in his journey called "life" as well as a host of great friends and church family.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Lester "Lec" Cornelison, and mom, Stella Potter Cornelison; two sisters, Sylvia Cornelison and Wanda Yvonne Cornelison; and brothers, Raymond D. and Willard L. Cornelison.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Liner officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 4, 2025 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
