Hunter Kelsey Cross, age 23, passed away on June 10th after his battle with addiction. Despite his best efforts, he ultimately lost the fight.
He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on October 10, 1999, a son of Peter Kelsey and Jill Ann Drews Cross. He was a 2018 graduate of Fairview High School. Hunter attended Cleveland State University and was working on getting into his passion of Fashion and Design as a career.
Hunter was a vibrant young man who lived life to the fullest. He had a contagious energy that drew people to him, and he made friends with ease. He was well liked by all who knew him, and his kindness and generosity touched many lives. He had a love for sports and adventure, any of Florida's professional sports, starting with the Miami Dolphins, the Lightning, Heat and the Rays had his heart.
One of Hunter's greatest joys was making others happy. He had a knack for putting a smile on people's faces, and he went out of his way to help those in need. He will be remembered for his selflessness and his unwavering commitment to those he cared about.
Hunter's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a beloved son, brother, boyfriend, and member of the community with so many special friends. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Connor J. Cross and his fiancé, Madalyn Helson of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; a sister, Ava June Cross of Erie; his girlfriend Alexis Ghering and their expected daughter, Kelsey Joan, who will arrive in September. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

I had Hunter as a student and it was never a dull moment. He was an avid Miami fan and I was a Bills fan and he was quick to make predictions about how my Bills would fall to his Dolphins anytime we played, but I also remember seeing him at a game and him eager to come over and wish me luck :). But the thing I remember most is how he always made sure no one was left out or if someone was upset he did whatever he could to make them smile. My heart breaks for all of you. Prayers, hugs, and love your way.
