Huriel Martin Odums (also affectionately known as PAPA), 75, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in his home.
He made Milestone his home for the last 45 years. He lived at Milestone Elmwood Heights for a total of 29 years, and Milestone Old Golf Road Group Home for 16 years.
He attended Barbara Olson School of Hope for 16 years, Milestone Training Center for 10 years, Milestone Industries for a total of 17 years and at home training for many years.
Huriel is survived by his sisters, Zenetta Webb of Chicago, and Margaret Kinslow of New Jersey, (who lovingly called him Scrappy), his Milestone Family, his guardian Thema Robinson, and his friends for life James and Billie Denson. He was pre-deceased by his parents Lee and Sara Odums.
A Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103, with a visitation prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
