Obituary
Kings Mountain - Ms. Doris Elaine Odums, daughter of Lemuel and Martha (Moore) Odums, was born on August 10, 1961 in Kings Mountain, North Carolina and departed this life on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Cleveland Pines in Shelby, NC.
Doris was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and attended Cleveland Community College. She was a dedicated mother, devout church member, dependable and hardworking employee, and faithful friend to many. She spent her life caring for others, volunteering her time, obtaining higher education, studying her Bible, and loving her grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her father, Lemuel "Buck" Odums; nephew, Nicholas A. Odums, and great niece, Seyaira Odums; grandparents, Rev. Grady & Nancy Odums and Samuel & Alice Moore.
She is survived by her four children: J. Brian (Brandie) Odums, Beverly, Gina Odums and Marcus L. Odums, all of Kings Mountain, NC; and Michelle D. Odums, of Fort Mill, SC; her mother, Martha; and her sister, Glenda (Homer)Horton. She is also survived by five aunts: Mable Goode; Mary Ann Young; Ethel Mae Odums; Alice White, all of Kings Mountain, NC; Geraldine Burris, of Gastonia, NC; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind 3 nephews, a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and very dear friends
The family will meet at 103 Pennant Street Kings Mountain.
Funeral: Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 4pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church; the family will receive friends 30 mins prior to the service
