I. D. Smith Jr.

I.D. Smith Jr. - 91 years of Lathrop, MO. passed away March 7th, 2026, Saturday evening in his home. I.D. was born to I.D. Sr. and Frances Smith (Wysong), December 14, 1934, Kansas City, MO. I.D. graduated from Lathrop High School. He served 2 years for the United States Army then returned to the family home and married Carol Jean Pollard where they had 1 son, David.

I.D. farmed with his father growing crops and raising hogs and cattle.

In November of 1988 he married Debbie Langner, they continued to farm together, travel and attend family gatherings, along with many farm shows. He was a Gentleman's gentleman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Carol Jean.

Survived at the home by wife, Debbie. Son, David Smith (Vonda) of Grain Valley, MO. Grandchildren, Jeff Smith (Kendra) of Shawnee, KS. Blake Smith (Christine) of Olathe, KS. Great-grandchildren, Penelope, Isabella, Samuel, Lola, Richard, Whitney. Nephew William Pollard and many other beloved nieces, nephews and loved members of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Debbie Smith, to help with final expenses. A service celebrating I.D.'s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Lathrop Methodist Church in Lathrop. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, March 20th, 2026, also at the Lathrop Methodist Church.
