Ida was born on 8/6/1926 to Mary Louise and Wendell Howe Coombs in Poplar Montana and is 1 of 11 children. Ida has always been busy. During WW II she worked on planes at Hill Airforce Base and frightened her mother by running up and down the planes she was working on.
6/29/1949 Ida married Rollo W Bickley and had 11 children of her own. At this point she began to volunteer for schools, libraries, hospitals and Boy Scouts to support her kids. Ida received a Dedicated Scouting Service award as well as acknowledgements from city, county and federal agencies for her service. She also taught Special Needs Primary for 37 Years.
Preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers and 2 sisters. Husband Rollo, Son Curt, Son Guy, Grandson Jeffery, Great Grand Daughter Jordan
Survivors – Jan, Kent, Doug, Dale, Connielynne, Dave, Gerry, Alan, Laurie, several Grand Children and Great Grandchildren
A viewing will be held on Thursday April 3rd at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapels at 4760 S State Street from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be held Friday April 4th at the Penney Cove Ward on 3219 S. 300 E. at 11:00. An additional viewing will be held at the ward 1 hour before the service.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Promise South Salt Lake to provide assistance to youth in our community. Visit SSLC.gov for more information.
