Celebrating the Life of Ida Jewel Litzsey
Mrs. Ida Jewel Litzsey was born August 30, 1947, to Robert Lee and Geneva Greenlaw.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age. At the time of her transition, she was a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Travis L. Harden. She faithfully served on the usher's ministry, and she loved her church family, and she also enjoyed fellowshipping with them.
Jewel loved fishing and spending time with her family. She especially loved nice clothes and expensive purses. She took great pride in dressing up "diva" style. Whenever you saw her, she was dressed for the occasion.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Greenlaw and mother Greenlaw; one (1) brother Robert Lee Greenlaw Jr.; three (3) sisters, Bobbie J. Greenlaw, Joyce A. Stedman and Ester Shepherd.
She transitioned out of time into eternity on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Pine Bluff, AR.
She leaves to cherish her husband: James Earl Litzsey; two (2) daughters, Geneva Green and Subrenia Fisher both of Little Rock, AR; one (1) stepson, Derrick Litzsey of Louisville, KY; one (1) sister, Orange (Timothy) Armstrong of Pine Bluff, AR; (11) grandchildren; (23) great-grandchildren; Mother-in-law, Ms. Clotee Litzsey; two (2) brothers-in-law, Riley (Phyllis) Litzsey and David (Ruth) L. Litzsey; two (2) sisters-in-law, Earnestine Robinson of Tampa. FL and Loretta (Roy) McCullough of Prattsville, AR and a host of nephews, nieces' cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Pine Bluff, AR by Pastor Travis Harden. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pine Bluff, AR by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR. Her body will lie in-state from 11:45 a.m. until service time.
