2 Timothy 4:6-8
"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at the day "
Howard Litzsey, Sr., age 67, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in Waxachie, TX.
His voice is stilled. The wise words he gave will be no more, but the wisdom he instilled will live on. The support and encouragement he provided has ended, but the strength he taught shall never fade. The life of Howard Litzsey, Sr. has come to a close.
A Time to be Born
Howard Litzsey was born September 15, 1955, to the late Coy and Rosie Lee Litzsey in Little Rock, Arkansas.
A Time to Live...
Howard to be affectionately called "Sweet Black", traveled to Louisiana in the early 1970's with the goal of making his way in the world. It was that goal that lead him to a career as a trucker. There was nothing he could not do; from fixing motors to transmission, changing tires, or hauling grain, hay, gas and metals he did it all. Helping others came freely to him and nothing was expected in return.
Howard soon meet the love of his life after coming to Louisiana, Wanda Watson. The two were joined in holy matrimony on July 17, 1974 and welcomed seven children to their union.
Howard was a man of honesty and integrity. He wore that badge as good and loving father and grandfather proudly. It was his greatest accomplishment. Always giving a motivational presence to keep on moving on. He brought a lot of wisdom, happiness, and love to everyone. He will forever be missed. Long live a legend.
Howard was proceeded in death by his parents Coy and Rosie Lee Litzsey: daughter, Sheila Wallace; Grandsons, Troy Litzsey. Jr. and Josiah Wallace; siblings Joann Miller. Florah Litzsey, and Walter Word.
Howard leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Wanda Litzsey of Simmesport; three sons, Howard (Jennifer) Litzsey. Jr. of Batchelor, LA, Lee (Kim) Litzsey, and Troy Litzsey. Sr. of Simmesport; four daughters, Crystal (Daryl) Nelson and Jessica Litzsey of Simmesport, LA., Felicia Jackson-Shaw of Little Rock, AR, Kayla (Theron Jr.) Smith of Zachary, LA; his siblings, Alice (Lee) Shaw, Wilma Little, Carolyn Litzsey, Thelma Edwards, Evette Little, Casandra Litzsey, Elmarie Litzsey, Brittany Price, Robert (Marie) Cannon, Albert Cannon, Alex Litzsey, Orlando Litzsey, Sylvester Litzsey all of Pine Bluff, AR. Betty Moris of Texarkana. TX, and James Cannon of White Hall, AR. His memory will live on in his eleven grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

We here at Gulf South Insurance Agency in Baton Rouge are so very saddened to hear of Mr. Litzsey's passing. He was always so friendly and kind to everyone here. We told him that with his deep voice he sounded like a radio announcer.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Litzsey family. May God give you all strength and comfort that only comes from him.
