Ida Fay (Mayfield) McMillan passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord on December 15, 2022, at the age of 64.
She was born on October 12, 1958, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Isaac and Alma (Paige) Mayfield. She lived most of her life in Chicago, Illinois, many years in Michigan, where she met her husband and has resided in San Antonio, Texas for the past several years.
Ida was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was outgoing, known everywhere she went and welcomed anyone into her home. She was tough, spoke her mind and could always hold her own, loved to cook and was great at it, had a big heart and would give away her last dollar. She shared a special bond with her twin Johnnie, adored her grandchildren, loved her entire family, always reached out and kept in touch with everyone.
Ida is survived by her husband of 19 years, Carlton McMillan; son, Kenyatta "Speedyman" (Amy) Mayfield of Paw Paw, MI; daughter, Shanell James of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Angela Monique Ida Watkins, Brittny Rena Mayfield, Bryan Kevin James Jr, Jaucari Armani James, Isaac Mayfield, Chanel Anna James, Janel Emma James; siblings, Maxine George, Larry Creath, Kim Creath, Ennis Mayfield, twin brother Johnnie Mayfield, Dwight Mayfield; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Bryan James Sr. In keeping with her wishes cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be planned with family and friends at a later date.
