Ida R. Saenz gained her wings and went home to be with our Lord on June 4, 2025, where she was lovingly welcomed by her parents, brothers, and sisters who went before her.
Ida was born on December 2, 1948, to Guadalupe and Eva F. Rodriguez. She was raised in
Corpus Christi, Texas, where she attended Roy Miller High School. Later, she continued her education at Southern Career Institute, earning her certification as a medical assistant. Ida dedicated 15 years of service to Cardiology Associates before becoming a devoted home provider with MHMR. Ida's caring nature, generous spirit, and wonderful cooking made her home a warm and welcoming place-not just for her own children, but for many of their friends, who fondly called her "Mom or Mama Saenz." Family, friends, and neighbors were always welcome, and her home became a cherished gathering place for many. Whether it was a holiday, a weekend meal, or simply a place to feel loved, Ida's home was where people came together.
Family was at the center of Ida's life. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her strength, warmth, and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Though she will be dearly missed, we take comfort in knowing that God saw her tired face and wrapped His arms around her, lifting her to eternal rest-for she truly fought a good fight until the very end.
Ida is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Guadalupe and Eva F. Rodriguez; her brothers, Gilbert (Delia), Rudy, and Luis Rodriguez; and her sisters, Gloria Zaragoza and Sylvia Molina.
Ida leaves behind a lifetime of memories with those who will forever cherish her: her loving husband of 59 years, Johnny M. Saenz; her children, Daniel A. Castillo (Brenda), Joseph "Joey" Saenz (Priscilla), Lisa Luevanos (Randy), and Michael Saenz (Kelly), her first grand-daughter, Nicole (Brandon) Ballard, whom she raised and loved as a daughter; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; brothers Bobby (Lupita) Rodriguez, Oscar (Irene) Rodriguez, Arnold (Liz)Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez. Sister's Gracie Garcia (Daniel Uribe), and Diana Rodriguez and her fur babies, Phoenix and Luna.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Gabriel and Roland Rodriguez, Zachary and Jacob Luevanos, Juan and Matthew Saenz. Honorary Pallbearers are Sean and Bryan Ebbert, and Jacob Woods.
