Ida Lois Slinker

Ida Lois Slinker, 96, of Sonora, passed away Friday February 6, 2026 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

She was born in Rineyville to James Claude and Katherine I. Morehead. She was always busy from cleaning homes to managing HEB and convenience stores and helping her husband at his auto body shop or vehicle repo service. Lois loved helping other people, especially loved AVON and she was an avid gardener with quite the green thumb. She was also a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Sonora.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathane Slinker, her parents, sons, David and Danny Flanigan, son-in-law, Dennis Woodford, step son, Ellis Slinker, and daughter, Nina Flanigan Smith.

She is survived by her loving sons, Ron (Kay) Flanigan of Floyd Knobs, IN, and Don (Brenda) Flanigan of Sonora, KY, daughter, Patty Woodford of Menomonie, WI, step daughter, Anna Moore of Elizabethtown, Ky, and nursing home roommate, Donna Schrank.

Funeral Services will be held Friday February 13, 2026 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Sonora in Sonora, KY with Bro. Tony Carson officiating. Burial will be held at the New Horizon Church Cemetery in Glendale.

Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm or Friday 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
