Carol Jean Slinker of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Norman Slinker and Shirley Carrol Slinker, was born on Wednesday, October 29, 1958 in Elizabethtown and departed this life on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at her home. She was 67 years, 2 months, and 10 days of age.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Joshua Akers and Crystal of Elizabethtown; a son-in-law: James Johnson of Greensburg; nine grandchildren: Jackson Johnson and Raylen, Isabella Johnson, Mackenzie Johnson, Alivia Akers, Connor Akers, Aksel Akers, Liam Meriwether, Brody Brandenburg, Tristin Barden; three great-grandchildren: Reed, Remi, and Rayne; a sister: Ella Dillard; a brother: Randall Wheat; special friend: Barry Jaggers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter: Shannon Johnson on September 25, 2018; and a sister: Terry Burschell.

There will be no formal services at this time. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
