Ida Lamar Stautzenberger, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend passed away on November 17, 2023, at the age of 87.

Ida was born on April 9, 1936, to Benito S. Garcia and Luisa (Weiser) Garcia in New Gulf, Texas. She was the eighth of eleven children.   Ida graduated from Boling High School where she played the clarinet and alto clarinet. She attended New Gulf Presbyterian Church where she sang in the church choir and participated in Christmas pageants.  She enjoyed working alongside her father and brother Uvaldo at Foodcraft, a grocery store owned by her father in New Gulf, Texas.

She married her husband Anthony J. Stautzenberger on October 24, 1963, in Austin, Texas.  The Lord blessed the couple with five children, Annamarie Ryan (husband Jack), Anthony Stautzenberger (wife Hope), Elisabeth Rzasa (husband Edward), Rosalinde Jordan (husband Jesse), and Philipp Stautzenberger (wife Jennifer).  Ida was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In 1966 the couple lived in student housing, Brackenridge Apartments, while Anthony pursued a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Texas at Austin. Ida focused on raising four of their five children. When Anthony graduated the family purchased a home in North Austin in 1970.  In 1977 their fifth child Philipp was born.  Two and a half years later in 1980 Anthony passed away leaving Ida with five young children to raise.  She worked tirelessly to provide for her children for AISD in the cafeteria once Philipp started school.

Ida remained in her home for nearly 50 years.  In 2020 her children moved her to Cedar Park, Texas.  She purchased a home next door to her son Philipp which put her close to all her children who took care of her in her final years.

She was preceded in death by three brothers Urbano, Uvaldo, and Ruben.  She is survived by three brothers Benito, Joel, and Noe and all four of her sisters Corina, Irma, Frances, and Maria Luisa.

Ida Lamar Stautzenberger came to Christ at a very young age.  She loved and served the Lord all her life.  She lived by faith and prayed without ceasing for her children and family.  She leaves behind a legacy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who love the Lord and cherish the beautiful example that was her life.
