Idabelle "Dolly" Viola Carroll, 80 of Ossian, Iowa passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, Iowa. Idabelle was born November 16, 1943 to Fred and Lourene (Watt) Rager in Pennsylvania.
Dolly was a homemaker, a teaching assistant, a daycare director, lead clerk at Schramm's Farms and Orchards, and a baker. She enjoyed taking road trips along with spending time with her family and friends. Dolly overcame impossible odds and loss but still lived life to the fullest. She loved family, would serve others when she was able, and take joy in the simple things of life such as passing of the seasons.
Dolly is survived by her children, James Sansonetti (Dawn), Anthony Sansonetti (Nancy), Richard Sansonetti (Tonya), Lourene Meyer (Scott), MaryAnn Sansonetti-Wood (Greg), Pam DePalma (Dave) Daughter in love, and a dear friend, Joan Ameling; Grandchildren, Vittoria Dumas (Travis), Richard Thomas Sansonetti, Emily Shangraw (Chad), Eric Sansonetti, Megan Kreutz (Kyle), Brandon Sansonetti (Chelsey), Sarah Sansonetti, Rachel Sansonetti, and Ella Wood.
She was preceded in death by her true love and first husband of 27 years, Richard E. Sansonetti; second husband of 11 years, Joseph Carroll; and her sister, Margaret Ann Smith.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in Dolly's name to the Ossian Care Center, formerly Ossian Senior Hospice 114 Fisher Ave Ossian, IA 52161
Inurnment and A Celebration of Life will be at a later date in Pennsylvania.
Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Ossian, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
