Ignacio Duque

Ignacio Raymundo Duque peacefully passed away in his sleep at home on the 9th of August, 2025. Born February 22,1929, Ignacio lived through some of the worlds most significant events. He was known to be kind hearted and always had a sharp memory, he always loved to recall past shared memories and loved to share his memories with anyone who would give him a listening ear. He was born and raised in Fresnillo, Zacatecas Mexico and married his wife of 70 years Herlinda. He is survived by his wife Herlinda G. Duque, two daughters, Virginia Gonzalez (son in law Rodolfo Gonzales) and Maria G. Montoya (son in law Humberto Montoya), his 18 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sons Antonio Javier Duque, Raymundo Duque, Juan Duque, Jesus Duque and grandson Jesus Alberto Duque. When he was a young adult he became a butcher and ended up being one of the best in his trade. He later became a beloved custodian at Scottsdale Elementary and retired from the Ysleta Independent School District in 2002. His children and grand children will miss him dearly. Papa, Abuelito you are in our thoughts and prayers every single day. We cannot put into words how much we will miss you. Until we meet again in Heaven.
