CRESCENT, PA – Ila Ann Bable, 81, of Crescent, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 1, 1944, in East Liverpool, Ohio, Ila was the daughter of the late Harry Nelson, Sr. and Arlene Owen Nelson. Ila was a faithful member of the Coraopolis Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for 39 years. She was always willing to help her friends, family, and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Ila was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frank Bable; her sisters, Joyce "Joey" Murdock and Charlotte Moore; and her brothers, Harry Nelson Jr. and R. Frank Nelson.
She is survived by her daughters, Shawna Bable-Rice and her husband Richard of Moon Township, PA, and Melissa Lewis of Hopewell, PA; her two loving grandchildren, Colten Rice and Helena Rice; as well as two brothers and one sister by marriage and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Evangelist Jeremy Main will conduct a funeral service Saturday, August 16, at 12:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.
Following the service the family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
