Mrs. Ila Mae Brintle Creed, 89, of Mount Airy, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday night, November 30, 2025. She was raised in the close-knit White Plains community and attended school locally. On December 23, 1953, she married her beloved husband, Coy Eugene Creed. Together, they enjoyed 66 years of devoted marriage and remained active members of the community where they made their home and nurtured their family. She later spent more than 20 years employed with Spencer’s Inc. and was a dedicated member of Dover Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Vance Holyfield of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Deborah Creed of Mount Airy; her adored grandchildren, Jessica and Jimmy Bryant of Sparta, Ryan and Amber Creed and Ashley and Daniel Vipperman, all of Mount Airy, and Matthew Creed and Jordan Taylor of Dobson; her great-grandchildren, Chloe Madison Creed, Wesson Zan Creed, and Emerlie Mae Creed, all of Dobson, Brooks Coy Bryant and Annie Mae Bryant, both of Sparta, and Lelia Eva Vipperman of Mount Airy; and a sister, Nancy Lou Culler of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Creed was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Eugene Creed; two sisters, Aline Brintle Fletcher and Magdalene Brintle Edmonds; and a brother, James “June” Brintle. A service of worship and celebration of Ila Mae’s life will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Dover Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church.
