Hubbard, Ohio - Allan Edward Creed, age 93, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family, on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was born on April 10, 1931, in Johnston, Ohio, son of Pearl (Hipkins) and Clark D. Creed. He spent his early years working on their family farm. Allan was a 1948 graduate of Johnston High School. He met the love of his life, Jane (Martha) Wall, and they were married in 1952.
Allan was a 4-year veteran of the Air Force and proudly defended our country in the Korean War. Allan served as a radio operator in the Air Force, and this prepared him for a subsequent career in broadcast television. After completing his tour of duty in the Air Force, he began working at WMFJ TV of Youngstown, Ohio, and later at WNEO TV of Salem, Ohio. He retired in 1996 after forty-two years of dedicated service.
Allan designed and built his lifelong home, where he and his wife lived happily for nearly 70 years. Although he was a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes. He was hard-working, dedicated, insightful, and compassionate. Allan was an honest and humble man, loved and admired by all. Allan loved spending time in his workshop and was truly a creative problem-solver. His hobbies included woodworking, video editing, troubleshooting and keeping up with technology. He was a jack-of-all-trades, from electrical, carpentry to repairing just about anything. You could tell that he was happiest when surrounded by his ever-growing family, as his smile would light up the room. He and his wife, Jane, were active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard. Allan lived the word of the Lord through his acts of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jane, with whom he celebrated 70 wedding anniversaries; his brother, Norman Creed, and his grandson, Ray Ausbon. He is survived by his son, Scott Creed of Imperial, Pennsylvania; two daughters: Sherri Ausbon of Apex, North Carolina, and Sandy Williams of Boardman, Ohio, his beloved 5 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. And now Allan and Jane are together again.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Pastor Bonnie Dutton officiating. Private burial will be in Kinsman Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 22 Westview Ave., Hubbard, OH 44425.
