Ilene B. Bornstein

Ilene Bornstein (née Sesser), age 84, passed away peacefully on December 24, following a brief illness. Born in Malden, Massachusetts, she married her high school sweetheart, Stuart, and together they established their home in Peabody, Massachusetts, where she resided for the remainder of her life.

Ilene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit, and for never having an unkind word to say about others. She treasured her family and took great joy in her five grandchildren, with whom she remained in close and loving contact. Ilene also deeply valued her long-standing friendships and participated in a weekly Mah Jongg game that continued for many years.

Ilene was passionate about her work as a medical assistant and found deep fulfillment in caring for and supporting her patients.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Stuart; her sons, Harvey (Sheila Kennedy) and Scott (Sarah); her sisters, Diane Higer (Sam) and Marjorie Korson; and her cherished grandchildren, Cara, Alyssa (Jim MacDonald), Devin, Maya, and Cameron & his fiancee McKenzie Plaza . She was predeceased by her brother, Norman, in 2005.

Services at the Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry Street (off Route 60), on Monday, December 29 at 11:00 AM. Interment at Ezrath Israel Cemetery, Danvers. Condolence calls may be made at her late residence 33 Perley Avenue, Peabody following the interment Monday until 7PM and on Tuesday from 2-7 PM
