It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ilir "Lee" Morava, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother. Ilir departed this world on December 3, 2025, at Carolinas Medical Center (Atrium Health) in
Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 62, after a courageous battle with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
Born on May 7, 1963, in Tirana, Albania, Ilir was a man of deep character, integrity, and quiet strength. He was the proud owner of Lee's Carpentry Works, where he dedicated his professional life to serving the community through skilled craftsmanship. To Ilir, his business was more than a livelihood - it was a testament to his hard work and the dream he carried with him when he came to America: to one day build something of his own and provide for his family.
Ilir found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially tending to his backyard garden. It was there that he spent cherished time with his wife of 36 years, Marjana Morava, alongside their two golden doodles, Lola and Toby. Those backyard moments were sacred to him - drinking coffee, sharing laughter, and enjoying family time, especially when his daughters, Endi and Ada, were home to share updates about their lives (and receive a loving father lecture or two).
Ilir is survived by the family who will forever hold him in their hearts: his wife, Marjana Morava; his daughters, Endi Morava and Ada Morava; his mother, Bukurie Morava; his sister, Mika Resuli; and his brother, Adrian Morava.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Ilir's life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Church Street Funeral Home (125 S Church St,
Hendersonville, NC 28792). Family and friends are welcome to gather and pay respects beginning at 11:00 AM, with the service to follow around 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ilir's memory may be made to support leukemia research, including stem cell transplant and CAR-T cell therapy advancements, in honor of his legacy and fight.
