Griselda Rivera Lopez, born on April 5, 1942, in Guanajuato, Mexico, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at Elizabeth House in
Flat Rock, NC. She was 83 years old.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Griselda was a cherished resident of
Hendersonville, NC, where she lived with her family. Her life was marked by love, dedication, and unwavering support for her family and friends.
Griselda is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Jose E. Garcia Jaramillo. Together, they built a loving family that will continue to honor her memory. She leaves behind her daughters, Rayo Garcia of Hendersonville, and Connie Garcia of Asheville, along with Connie's husband, Luis Moreno. Her sons, Jesus Garcia and his wife Hortensia of Asheville, Felipe Garcia and his wife Marisol of
Chicago, IL, and Gustavo Garcia of Hendersonville, also mourn her passing. She is also remembered by her daughter-in-law, Ascencion Garcia of Guanajuato, Mexico.
Her legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren: Estefanie, Jhonny, Erick, Diego, Eugenio, Christian, Meche, Vanessa, Juanis, and Alejandra, as well as her great-grandchildren, Allison and Yvette. Gricelda's family was the center of her world, and her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eugenio Garcia Rivera, and great-grandson, Nathan of
Chicago, IL.
Visitation will take place at Church Street Funeral & Cremation on Wednesday, March 4, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Barnabas Catholic Church on Thursday, March 5, at 11:30 a.m. A graveside service will immediately follow the Mass at Calvary Churchyard.
Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Amada esposa, madre, abuela y bisabuela, Griselda fue una querida residente de Hendersonville, Carolina del Norte, donde vivió con su familia. Su vida estuvo marcada por el amor, la dedicación y el apoyo incondicional a su familia y amigos.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo en la Funeraria y Cremación Church Street el miércoles 4 de marzo, de 17:00 a 19:00, seguido del rosario de 19:00 a 20:00.
Se celebrará una misa de entierro cristiano en la Iglesia Católica de San Bernabé el jueves 5 de marzo a las 11:30 h. Inmediatamente después, se celebrará un servicio funerario en el cementerio del Calvario.
