Ilse Seplak

Ilse Seplak, née Nickel, at rest on October 31, 2025. She was 96 years old. During her lifetime, Ilse lived in Berwyn, IL; Grand Marais, MN; Fox Lake, IL; Oak Brook, IL; and finally at Meadowbrook Manor in La Grange, IL.

Ilse was the beloved daughter of William Nickel and Emy Kilian Nickel, born on August 8, 1929. Her parents immigrated to the United States from western Germany in 1928.

Ilse was the devoted wife of the late James Seplak for 56 years. She was the cherished mother of Mark (Lisa) Seplak and Karen Seplak; loving grandmother of Bradley Seplak; and dear cousin of the late Ruth Nickel Skulina, the late Günter Holthöfer, and the late Liselotte Holthöfer Gippert.

Ilse was a woman of grace, strength, and resilience. She will always be remembered for her kind spirit.

A service will be held privately before interment at Glen Oaks Cemetery in Hillside, IL.

Her daughter Karen would like to thank the staff and residents of Meadowbrook Manor for the care, friendship, and love shown to Ilse during her years there.
