Mr. Iman Ali Hart, 40, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on September 1, 2025. Born on October 9, 1984, he was the beloved son of the late Tyrone Birdsong, and Angela and Kevin Edwards.
Iman, affectionately known simply as "Iman," brought joy and light to everyone who knew him. He attended Urbana High School, earning his Certificate of Attendance in 2003, and later graduated from the Success Program at St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2005.
Living as an adult with disabilities, including Down syndrome, never defined Iman-it illuminated his resilience and zest for life. He lived independently in his own apartment in Frederick with the support of Community Living, Inc., a Developmental Disabilities Administration agency. A proud participant in the Special Olympics, he won numerous trophies that stood as lasting symbols of his determination and spirit.
Iman's passions were many and brought him happiness daily. He loved karaoke, WWE wrestling, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, and collecting music CDs-especially R&B and rap. He delighted in spaghetti dinners, treasured his collection of sunglasses, enjoyed dancing, and played countless games of bocce. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found joy in attending almost any church service he could. Most of all, Iman cherished his family-especially his cousins in New Jersey-and his wide circle of friends in Frederick, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Iman was deeply proud to be the oldest of his siblings and lovingly embraced his role as big brother to Abraham and Sarah Edwards, and Jamiya Coleman. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever remember his warmth, humor, and love of life.
Though Iman faced many medical challenges, his spirit remained unshaken. He lived fully, loved deeply, and inspired those around him until the very end. His life was full of miracles.
Iman's life will be celebrated by all who were blessed to know him, and his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.
