Ruth Lentine passed away peacefully at home on August 26th at the age of 89. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Tom Lentine, and her children Cendy Fry, Lee Unger, and Russ Lentine. Mimi, as she was affectionately known by all, also had two sons-in-law, Doug Fry and Rob Unger, thirteen grandchildren and spouses, and twenty great grandchildren.

Ruth was born in East Prairie, MO on December 12, 1935, to Dave and Vivian Hodge. She was one of six children; three sisters and two brothers. Upon graduating from high school, Ruth moved to Florida where she met and married a young Navy man, Tom Lentine. Tom's naval career took them from Florida to Japan, Cuba, Texas, and Virgina before they retired and moved to Colorado Springs. Tom's second career in computer programing took them to Arizona, Ohio, and then back to Colorado. Mimi spoke fondly of their many adventures and the lifelong friends they met along the way.

Ruth loved the St. Louis Cardinals, the Colorado Avalanche, playing 'cheat your neighbor' with her grandkids and great grandkids, and hot dogs. She was famous for her spaghetti and meatballs, whoopie pies, and the 'goodie box' that her grandchildren got to pick a present from when they went to visit her. They also got a goodie bag full of treats when they left Mimi's house. Those couldn't be opened until the kids were on the 'super slab', her euphemism for the interstate highway.

Her great grandchildren have fond memories of Mimi giving them the exact number of orange tic-tac's that corresponded to their age when they left her house, plus 'one to grow on'. They will never forget being 'out of the will' when they got taller than Mimi. They also loved Thursday lunches at Mimi's house when she required all of them to tell her 'one good thing' that happened to them that week.

Mimi cherished visits with friends and family, loved a heated conversation, and was not shy about sharing her opinion. She is remembered for her hospitality, love of adventure, and her feisty spirit. We will always hold dear her love of family and friends, her commitment to Tom, and her devotion to her country.

Ruth will be buried on September 18th at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO.
