Anthony Lentine

Anthony Michael Lentine, a beloved longtime resident of Whippany, New Jersey, passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 100. Born on March 5, 1925, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Anthony was the son of Filomena and Vincenzo Lentine.
He lived a life marked by dedication to his family, community, and country.
In 1944, at the age of 19, Anthony enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. He proudly served his country and was discharged in May of 1946.
Anthony married the love of his life, Lena Graziano. In 1956, they moved to Whippany, where they raised their family and became active members of Our Lady of Mercy Church. Anthony was a founding member of Knights of Columbus Post 6904 and a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.).
Professionally, he worked as a highly skilled sheet metal worker. He was employed by Springfield Heating and Air Conditioning for over 20 years and by P. Fritze & Sons for many years until his retirement. In his retirement, he embraced golf and spent many joyful years on the course, playing well into his 90s. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling-especially his annual hunting trips to Maine with close friends, a tradition that spanned over five decades.
Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lena Graziano Lentine.
He is survived by his three sons: James Lentine and his wife Christine of Parrish, FL; Thomas Lentine and his wife Maureen of Mount Arlington, NJ; and Joseph Lentine and his wife Karen of Whippany, NJ.
He was a cherished grandfather to nine grandchildren: Lauren Dobbs (Scott), Michael Lentine (Chad), Ryan Wolters (Meagan), Carolyn Lentine-Wrobleski (Eric), Joseph Lentine, Peter Lentine, Thomas Lentine, Chelsea Lentine, and Lisa Lentine.
He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren.
Anthony will be remembered for his devotion to family and friends. His legacy of love, service, and commitment will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him
