Imogene Laverne Greene was born to Bertha and Ray Weber on November 30, 1921 in Whitehouse, Ohio, where she spent much of her young life. Over 102 Imogene has experienced everything from dirt roads and The Great Depression to 25 different U.S. Presidents. As history unfolded with developments like the Empire State Building, the auto industry, and various wars, Imogene became a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and even a great-great-great- grandmother. She married her beloved husband, Kenneth in 1937 with whom she shared 42 years, until his death in 1979. The birth of her daughters spanned from an at-home birth to modern hospital births. She led a simple life centered around her love of family, friends, travels, Sunday rides, and Bingo.
Imogene spent 86 years in Perrysburg, Ohio where she raised her five beautiful daughters. Living independently until nearly 100 years old, she then moved to The Manor of Perrysburg where she made many friends that she considered family. Known for her remarkable memory, Imogene was the go-to person for remembering birthdays, phone numbers, and important events.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Stout, Kathleen (James) Scholl, and Beth Groby; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great, and even great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ray and Bertha Weber; husband, Kenneth Greene; daughters, Brenda Eaton and Wilma Roden; sisters, Faith Null and Velva Bauman and brother, Bill Weber.
Imogene's 102 years and 2 months in our world was a gift to all that knew her. Her strength, laughter, stories, and smile will be dearly missed. Her favorite talent of wiggling ears will remain in our hearts forever.
To celebrate her life, visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2024, from 3-7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb 3, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Cemetery.
