Imogene Hurley, 87, of King Shoals, Pecks Mill, WV, died peacefully surrounded with love from her family on September26, 2023 in CAMC Memorial after fighting a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born in Henlawson, WV, known now as The Chief Logan State Park. She was the daughter of the late Ruford (Doodle) and Dollie Stollings-Richards. She was affectionally known as Ma-Maw to many youth and friends in Logan County, she loved watching her grandson, Keith Williamson and his teammates on the tennis courts. She was a1954 Logan High School graduate and a member of The Church of Christ at Yuma.
She preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bill Keith Hurley on August 12, 2000; one sister, Joan R. Vance; three brothers, Ralph R. Richards, Donald C. Richards and VerniceRichards.
She survived by one son, Gregory (Dr. Debra) Hurley of Georgia; two daughters, Elaine (Faron) Williamson of Pecks Mill with whom she made her home; and Stephanie Hurley of North Carolina; one granddaughter, Kristi Christian of Georgia; one grandson, Keith (Hannah) Williamson of Logan; one great-grandson, Nathan Christian of Georgia, and two adopted grandchildren, Treven Hurley and Treneda Hurley both of Georgia. Three sisters, Agnes Dale of Logan; Joyce Cyrus of Riverside, OH; Glennon Lay of Toledo, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
Akers-James Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements being held at the Funeral Home on Friday, September 29, 2023. Visitation with be from 12:00 to 1:00 for the family, and 1:00 to 2:00 for the public. Funeral services begin at 2:00 and conducted by Minister Denney Collins.
Pallbearers include Keith Williamson, Faron Williamson, Jimmy Williamson, Randy Cyrus, Justin Turner and Mike Belcher.
Honorary pallbearers are Alva Dean Kolovich and Darry Browning.
The family would like to thank Dignity Hospice of Logan and CAMC-Hubbard Hospice Care of Charleston for their compassion, kindness, and care she received and their generositygiven her family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Yuma Church of Christ, PO Box 1987, Logan, WV 25601.
Burial will follow the services at Highland Memory Gardens.
