Imogene Payne, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Greer, South Carolina. Born on May 23, 1939, in Milledgeville, Georgia, to Ben and Eula Allen, Imogene lived a life marked by love, laughter, and selflessness.

Imogene was the beloved wife of the late Ashmore W. Payne, and together they shared a life full of joy and companionship. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Gloria Roberts, and her husband, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Imogene's spirit lives on through her daughter, Gina Bagwell, and her grandsons, Blake Bagwell, married to Kiara, and Heath Bagwell, married to Kaylynne. Her great-grandson, Lincoln Bagwell, will grow up hearing tales of his great-grandmother's loving nature and her delightful sense of humor.

Throughout her life, Imogene was a talented seamstress, a skill she honed with passion and precision. Her work was not just a job but a form of expression that brought beauty and comfort to many. She was also an active and faithful member of the Greenville Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she found strength and community.

Imogene's interests were a reflection of her nurturing soul. She was an avid Georgia Football fan, cheering on her team with enthusiasm and pride. In the kitchen she cooked and baked with a touch that turned simple meals into memorable feasts. Her jams and jellies were the highlight of family gatherings, and her canning skills were second to none.

Sewing was more than a profession for Imogene; it was a hobby that she enjoyed immensely. She crafted countless pieces, each stitch a testament to her meticulous care and creativity. Her handiwork was not just fabric and thread but woven with the love she had for her family and friends.

Imogene Payne was the epitome of a loving, funny, and selfless individual. Her laughter was infectious, her care for others boundless, and her presence a comfort to all. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished and celebrated by those who were fortunate enough to have been a part of her life. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Imogene Payne's life was a beautiful journey that touched many, and she will be deeply missed.
