In Choi Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 9, 2025.
In Rak Choi left us peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Seoul, South Korea, In Rak lived a life marked by courage, devotion, and a deep love for the people around him.

In Korea, he worked as a manager at an industrial company, always steady and dependable. In 1989, he made the brave decision to move his family to the United States, hoping to build a brighter future together. Not long after arriving, he started a dry-cleaning business that he poured his heart into for 35 years. Through his kindness, honesty, and commitment to doing things the right way, he built not only a successful business but also a community of loyal customers who truly appreciated him.

In Rak had a warm, gentle spirit that shone through in everything he did. He loved music deeply-he loved to sing, and in his youth he played guitar and formed a small band with his friends. Music was one of the ways he expressed joy, and those who knew him will remember how his smile grew whenever a familiar melody played. He also loved golf, spending weekends with friends on the course, laughing, competing, and traveling together for games that became cherished memories.

In Rak was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Soon Ja Choi; his son Douglas(Dong-Hwan), daughter-in-law Alice, and granddaughters Maddie and Katie; and his daughter Sarah(Youn-Kyung), son-in-law Kiu Li, and grandchildren Sophia and Jayme. His family was his pride, his joy, and the center of his world.

In Rak will be remembered for his gentle nature, his steady hands, his warm laugh, and the love he gave so freely.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 2025 9:30am to 10:30am at St. Antoine Daveluy at Corpus Christi Church, 45 Ash St., Auburndale, MA 02465 followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30am. Burial will follow immediately at Newton Cemetery in Newton, MA.
