In Loving Memory of Steven Murdock Obituary

Visit the Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home & Cremation Centre website to view the full obituary.

Steven G. Murdock was born on June 8, 1966, to Charles and Dorothy Murdock in Cocoa Beach, Florida. A devoted son, loyal friend, and kind-hearted soul, Steve left us unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Steve dedicated 28 years of hard work and commitment to CSX and was eagerly looking forward to a well-earned retirement. Known for his bright mind and competitive spirit, he was a regular at trivia weekly, where he and his team frequently placed in the top four. He also enjoyed bowling with his league team, making it a joyful part of his weekly routine.

A man of faith, Steve was saved at a young age and baptized at Neptune Baptist Church. His faith remained a quiet but steady presence throughout his life. Above all, Steve held a deep love for his family. He faithfully visited his parents every Saturday, spending hours in conversation and companionship—an act that spoke volumes about his character and devotion.

Steven’s memory and the special qualities that made him who he was will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be profoundly missed.

A Memorial Service for Steven will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Neptune Baptist Church, 407 3rd Street, Neptune Beach, Florida 32266.  The service will be livestreamed.
