Ingrid Breitenstein

Ingrid Breitenstein, nee: Kunisgunda Reif, 93, of Muhlenberg; last living at Rittenhouse Village, she was formerly of Reading, passed away after an unexpected turn for the worse, Thursday, November 14th, at Encompass Health.
Ingrid was born in Nuremberg, Germany on September 19, 1931, a daughter of the late Elise (Hemm) and Hans Reif.
She was the widow of Leroy A. Breitenstein. Leroy died March 12, 1995. Mom came to America in 1949 as a proud German war bride with Dad and her son Rodney. While raising the family Mom did laundry for neighbors and would make lunches for some of the displaced people from Germany who lived near by.
Ingrid was a member and a greeter of Nativity Lutheran Church, Reading. She worked in sales at Boscov's East and then the Boscov's Fairgrounds Farmers Market. She was a member of and loved Evergreen Country Club and the Reading Liederkranz; she was a Boomadeer Reading Chapter, for 25 years. She loved playing her boomba and singing with the group.
Left to cherish Moms memories are:
a daughter, Beverly A., wife of Nicholas Amicone; and a son,Rodney, husband of Karen Breitenstein.
She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Alicia, Jason, Christian, Jodi and Jeni; 2 great grandchildren: Bella and Jax. Forever daughter in law Lynn wife of Scott. Her German buddy Usula and several dear close friends.
Ingrid was predeceased by sons; James A. and Robert J.; her brother Carl and sister Hannah.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 22nd at the Sanders Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1501 North 11th Street, Reading. Friends may call from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Online condolences maybe made at www.sandersfuneral.com.
Interment will be private at St. Paul's Cemetery, Amityville.
