Ingrid Granath was called by Jesus to dwell in the house of the Lord forever on August 10, 2025.

She was born on April 15, 1927, to Ivar and Elin (Eriksson) Hettman. Ingrid was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Lutheran church in Stockholm, Sweden.

Ingrid was educated within the Swedish school system and graduated from Stockholm's Handelsmellanskola. After graduation, she worked at the Main Post Office in Stockholm.

Lars Granath and Ingrid were married at St. Göran's Lutheran Church on March 1, 1947, in Stockholm. In 1949, they and their young son, Lars Göran, immigrated to America. They made their first home in Salt Lake City, Utah where daughter Karen was born. After 12 years they moved to Eugene, Oregon where Lars was employed with Aid Association for Lutherans.

In 1965 Lars was promoted to General Agent and moved the family to Bismarck, North Dakota. In 1971 Lars was offered the AAL agency in Norfolk, Nebraska and they joined Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Lars passed away in 1984.

Ingrid has been active in all the Lutheran churches she belonged to. In Norfolk, she was a member of the altar guild. Ingrid was a charter member of the Orphan Grain Train and spent much time in the mission field both at home and abroad. She made many trips to Latvian orphanages and homes with gifts from America.

Ingrid enjoyed her loving family. She loved baking, cooking, and keeping the Swedish traditions alive in food and special holidays. She knitted her grandchildren typical Swedish sweaters.

Ingrid will be remembered for her deep faith in Christ, her quick sense of humor, and her love for family and friends. Her door was always open for friends, and soon to become friends.

Ingrid is survived by her son, Lars Granath and daughter, Karen (Richard) Gallagher of Neligh; grandchildren, Erik (Erin) Granath of Oregon, Karla (John) Bush of Alaska, Shannon (Chris) Lenox of Oregon, Lars (Andrea) Gallagher and Martin (Lisa) Gallagher of Lincoln, Ryan (Tanya) Gallagher of Norfolk, and Amy Gallagher of Neligh, 17 great-grandchildren, step grandson Sean (Jaree) Gallagher of Norfolk, 3 step great grandchildren, and 1 step great great grandchild.

Ingrid was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Kerstin Hettman.

Ingrid's pallbearers will be Erik Granath, Lars Gallagher, Ryan Gallagher, Martin Gallagher, Arvid Bush and Atticus Lenox.
