Iona Elizabeth "Onie" Potter

Iona "Onie" Elizabeth Potter, 95, of Augusta, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Hampshire Center, Romney, WV.
Born on April 29, 1928 at Points, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harvey L. Saville and Mary A. (Grabiel) Saville.
Onie attended Augusta United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband operated Pleasant View Dairy Farm and she went on to be the manager of Mt. Top Dairy Bar and served at the Hampshire County Board of Education office. She enjoyed sewing, camping and square dancing. She enjoyed attending Hampshire Wellness Center for 14 years and was proud to be the oldest member at over 95 years old.
Onie was united in marriage on June 24, 1948 to Edward L. "Bud" Potter, who passed away June 30, 2010.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lyle Grow, Twila Martin, Beatrice Kidwell and a brother, Roy Lester Saville.
Surviving are 4 children: Keith Potter (Louise) of Augusta, WV, Michael Potter (Kathy) of Delmar, MD, Robyn Potter of Augusta, WV, and Gil Potter (Tammy) of Berryville, VA; grandchildren, Valerie, Bryan, Stacey, Chad, and great-grandchildren, Colby, Dorothy, Beau and Blaire and a sister, Mary Jean Moroney.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Jeffreys officiating. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Levels, WV.
The family will receive friends on Friday, 4-7pm, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wesley Chapel Cemetery fund, 111 Semper Fi Rd, Levels WV 25431.
