Ione Mary Bright

Ione "Oney" Bright (Nafstad), age 90, of White Bear Lake, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on July 19, 2025. Survived by children, Tom, Mike, Jim (Avan), and Tim (Kathryn) Nafstad, and Pam (Paul) Rech; step-children, Gayle (John) Zabel, Diane (Bob) Swainhart, and Mike Carroll; grandchildren, Jessica, Jack, Caden, Connor, Chase, Samantha, Stephanie and Sara; step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Maddy, Bobby, Ellie, Kennedy, Michael; siblings, Tom (Kathy) Krych, John Krych, Gigi (Art) Fretag and Pete (Debby) Krych; brother-in-law Jim Cepress; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband Don; brothers, Art (Joan), Kenny (Eleanor), and Duane Krych; sister Nancy Cepress. Ione loved taking day trips with Don, playing with her grandchildren, spending time with her family and "bonus" family in her beautiful yard in White Bear Lake. Ione was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends. She had an extraordinary gift for nurturing deep, lasting relationships with those around her. Oney's heart and home were always open and her kindness touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, August 8th at 11 AM (visitation 10-11AM) at Church of St. Pius X. 3878 Highland Ave. White Bear Lake, MN. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Brain and Behavior Research Foundation for schizophrenia, autism, epilepsy and other brain based illness.
