Condolences to family for your loss. In the short time sharing posts on the friendly site known as The Gutter, I've known Ira as Classic Dad, educator, sailor, car enthusiast and positive thoughtful man.
As we all feel, he will be missed. Wishing Ira a forever peaceful sail.

“Classic Dad” was a friend to all of us on the Gutter. I enjoyed our discussions about teaching. He must have had a very positive effect on all his students. He was a true teacher and loved sharing his wisdom.
Rest in Peace dear man. You are now with your wife, the woman who you missed so much.

We had many good conversations, often in the wee morning hours. I'm sure many of your students would list you as their favorite teacher. You were always kind and compassionate. You double-checked sources and always pinned a "Trust but Verify" to your posts. You were our erudite Renaissance man. Peace to you my friend.

Fellow Gutterite, political news junkie, Packer owner(!) and dear friend
So happy to have known you, if only virtually. You brought a smile to my face and made me think more deeply about a lot of things. I will remember my exchanges with you fondly and will take that wisdom forward with me.
Rest in peace. You will be missed.
