BASTON, Irah Bell, 96, wife of the late, Roy Baston, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Lexington, KY. She was born February 23, 1929, in Owenton, KY, to the late Elbridge and Isabel Cook. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church for over 60 years. Irah is survived by her children, Faye Snowden and Roy (Nancy) Baston; one grandchild, Adam Baston; siblings, Albert Cook, Emma Lee Perkins, Pearl (Bobby) May, Bertha McClure, William (Evelyn) Cook, Harry (Barbara) Cook, Tommy Cook, and Elbridge (Stella) Cook Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Dennis Baston; son-in-law, Billy Snowden; siblings, Albin Cook, Ernest Cook, and Elzora Johns; half-brothers and sisters, John Cook, Vernon Cook, Elmer Cook, Lucille Gray, and Mildred Cook. A 10:00am service will take place Friday, March 28, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Main St. Burial will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Services for Irah will be Live Streamed.
