Irene Bokas Obituary
Educated in Detroit Public Schools, studied at Cass Tech which earned her a scholarship to study Fashion Design in New York City.
Stayed in Detroit and worked in Secretarial positions.
Married her Beloved Gerald in 11/26/1953. Their 72 year marriage was a life of devotion to each other; filled with family time, cooking great meals together, toasting each other with Southern Comfort Manhattans, adventurous travel and lots of euchre playing.
Four Children:
Maureen Gentry(Bruce), Cynthia Mageau(Michael), Kathy Varano(Greg), and Gerry Bokas.
Baba to her 12 Grandchildren:
Marion Vermander(Brian), Bruce Gentry, Chrissy Gentry(Geoff), Collin Gentry, Christian Mageau, Peter Varano(Sharon), Michael Varano(Kristian), Maria Varano(Luke), Renna Varano, Nikolas Varano, Sasha Bokas, and Mark Bokas.

Allie Vermander, Justin Vermander, Izabella Varano, Yael Varano, and Peter Varano, Jr.
Devoted lifelong Orthodox Christian; current member of St Mark Orthodox Church, Rochester Hills, MI.
Irene loved people- hosting great parties, gathering her beloved family around her, faithfully praying, serving at her church.
