Irene Mary Goff

Mrs. Irene Mary Burdette Goff, age 77 of Bermuda Run, NC passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born November 22, 1946 in Delaware County, PA to the late Gerald M. Burdette and Mary Hearne Burdette.   Irene was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. Her love of Disney, especially Tinkerbell, brought a bit of magic into her life and to those who knew her. An avid gardener, Irene's green thumb could transform any garden into a vibrant, blooming haven and her garden was always a place of beauty and serenity. Irene was quite crafty and found joy in creating something whether it was sewing a special piece, creating her own decorations or scrap-booking. Her kitchen was the heart of her home where she loved cooking delicious meals, making fresh bread and baking her famous cookies.  She is survived by her husband, Michael Goff; two daughters, Susan Rice-Thompson (Bob) and Veronica duPont (Larry); grandchildren: Erica Smith (Christian), Kevin Thompson, Hayden duPont, Rhiannon Thompson; sibling: Paul (Donna) Burdette; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mary Burdette; daughter: Lynda Rice; and sisters, Maryann Preston and Theresa Bulovas. Irene's spirit will live on through the memories she created with those who loved her.  Services will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.
