Irene Christine Jefferies

It is with deep sorrow that we announced the passing of Irene Christine Jefferies who passed away on March 22, 2025, in Naples, Florida surrounded by her loving family in the beautiful home she made so special. She was 89 years old. Born on June 14, 1935, in New York, Irene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt sister-in-law, and friend. Her warmth, kindness and captivating storytelling, touch the lives of everyone who knew her.
Irene is survived by her devoted husband of over 60 years, Ernie Jefferies, with whom she shared a loving and supportive partnership. Together, they raised two children, Denise and Douglas Jefferies, and were blessed with grandchildren Nicholas, Victoria and Christopher Hynd along with their partners, who reside in Stamford, Connecticut. Irene was also recently blessed with a great granddaughter, Harper Willow. She is further survived by her loving sister, Gloria Sfiroudis, her sister-in-law, Gwen Knorr, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom will dearly miss her.
Irene and Ernie lived in Greenwich, Connecticut for over 40 years before moving to Wyndemere Country Club in Naples Florida, where they have spent the last 25 years of their beautiful life together. Irene loved to play bridge and poker afterwards. Irene was deeply involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, offering unwavering love support and guidance throughout their lives. Her compassion resilience, and commitment to family and community left a lasting legacy that continues to inspire all who knew her.
A talented performer, Irene attended the School of Performing Arts and graced the stage in several off-Broadway productions. She was a natural entertainer, known for her love of hosting gatherings and bringing family and friends together. Whether decorating for the holidays or organizing fun games for everyone to enjoy, Irenes spirit and zest for life were felt in every celebration she created.
Family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00am to 11:30am on Saturday, April 5th at Fuller Funeral Home; 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, Fl, 34109. A luncheon celebrating Irenes life and the joy she brought to so many will be held at Wyndemere country club will follow.
