MRS. IRENE WALTERS JONES, age 67, of Milan, GA, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, October 18, at Jones Family Cemetery in Milan, GA, with Rev. Gary Velie officiating.

Irene was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 13, 1958. She moved to Eastman, GA where she graduated from Dodge County High School and later attended Northern Kentucky University. During her early years, she was an avid equestrian and was a skilled hunter jumper and amassed numerous awards and trophies during her career. She later married her husband, Ricky, on December 15, 1979, and was blessed with three amazing children, Dusty, Jake, and Mary. She worked diligently to raise her children and take care of her family. Above all, she loved her Lord and made sure each of her children knew Jesus and of His love and kindness.

After her children were grown, she worked as a telephone operator for the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Karma. She loved music, playing golf with Ricky, trips to the beach, and horseback riding. Irene was preceded in death by her Parents, Willard Walters and Ethel Walters, Daughter, Mary Jones, Daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Jones, Brother, Billy Walters, Brothers-in-law and Sister-in-law, Rodney and Erica Jones, and Randy Jones.

She is survived by her Husband of 46 years – Ricky Jones of Milan; Sons – Dusty Jones of Crescent Springs, KY and Jake Jones (Katie) of Charleston, SC; Granddaughter – Karma Maria Jones (Dusty); Mother-in-law – Carolyn Taylor of Eastman; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law – Rusty Jones (Alyssa), Angie Jones, Michelle Graham (Walt), Ashley Jones, and Teresa Daniels Jones; Numerous nieces and nephews; Faithful Canine Companion – Scooby Doo.

Many fond memories of growing up with Irene.
