Irene A. La Forge, 74, of Bristol, passed onto the lord on Sunday (February 9, 2025) at Ingraham Manor after a long illness.
Irene was born on September 21, 1950, in Southington and was a daughter of the late Chester and Armande (Simoneau) La Forge. A lifelong Bristol resident, she graduated from Bristol Eastern High School. She worked for Limra and Companions and Homemakers. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, gardening and spending time with her friends. With a warm smile and heart of gold, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Richard Swasey of Bristol; two grandchildren: Nicole and Nicholas Amato; three great-grandchildren: Nathan, Max, and Nolan Swasey; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son: Gregory Borkowski, and her brother: Norman La Forge.
Funeral services will be held at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Friday (February 14, 2025) at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Friday between 10 and 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
