Iris Bauer Obituary
Iris graduated from Owendale, Michigan High School in 1941. She married David G. Bauer February 22, 1941 in Bay Port, MI. They moved to Saginaw in 1941 where she resided until present. She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, crafts, gardening and creating rock gardens. She made delicious baked breads, cookies, cakes and other pastries including fantastic cream puffs and donuts.
Iris is survived by two sons David R. of Gainesville, GA and Gary G. (Nancy) of Alexandria, VA; a brother Orval Zapfe of West Branch; 3 grandchildren (Chad, Andrew, Julia), 5 great-grandchildren (Heather, Carter, Grayson, Leah, Reese) and 1 great-great-granddaughter (Alyn).
Iris was preceded in death by her husband David G. Bauer; parents Floyd Henry and Ida (Simmons) Zapfe, Owendale; brothers Harold Lloyd Zapfe, Owendale; Floyd "Bud" Zapfe of Tawas City; sisters Doris Louise Zapfe, Deckerville; Lillian Florence (Gordon) Roe, Florida; Deloris Opal (Daniel) Thaut, Washington State; Olive Jeanine (Robert) Wurm of Sebewaing; granddaughter Christine Danielle (Bauer) Little of Traverse City; daughters-in-law Mary Jo (Egerer) Bauer of Hemlock and Danielle Kaye (Merrow) Bauer, Saginaw.
A private family memorial will be held. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
