Madeleine Bauer Obituary
Maddy was born on May 15, 1931 in Providence, Rhodie Island to Philip and Ida VanCougyhem. She graduated with a teaching degree from Rhode Island University where she dedicated 36 years to teaching second grade.
On August 21, 1954 she married her college boyfriend John Bauer and together they started their family. Maddy was survived by daughter Laura Kasprow and husband Wesley, daughter Linda Grader and husband Mark, and daughter-in-law Allison Bauer along with five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband John and son John.
Maddy was a die hard New England Patriots, UCONN women's basketball and New York Yankees fan. She was a dedicated volunteer of the Korean Veterans Society and the secretary at the Bristol Senior Center. She loved boating, parties, port wine and manhattans.
A memorial service is being held at All Souls UU Church in New London, CT on February 15th at 2:00 pm.

We are so sorry to learn of Madeleine's death. I taught with Madeleine at Edgewood School in Bristol. We have been friends for many years and have enjoyed many happy get-togethers with family and friends. She was such a warm, friendly person. Our sympathy goes out to her entire family. May she rest in peace.
